HAPPY NEW YEAR toEVERYONE :) Cross your fingers, make a wish and wait until it comes true! ❋**❇ ǝʌǝ ɹɐǝʎ ʍǝu ✻✴✶*
Made a Nutella cheesecake for NYE :) Looks yum! Click HERE for its recipe if you want :))) Getting ready to celebrate. Such icy and windy cold weather was just perfect for this jolly occasion.
Fifteen minutes to go...
Nice view from the mountain :) And the moon was amazingly bright and charming.
Countdown and fireworks to welcome 2010! Btw, I really didn't know these stuffs were so damn expensive. This one, that lasted barely more than a minute, already costed a hundred dollars. All these big and small fireworks and sparkles were eventually gone within less than thirty minutes, guess we had burnt about five hundred bucks.
Up on the mountain, watching people's fireworks shot up to the sky from everywhere in the city. And this one right in front of us was splendid - My friend joked that with what this firework costed he could have bought a brand new X-box, while another said that she saw a furry Zara coat out there. Haha.
Feliz año nuevo! Here is a video I took during the countdown... Was pretty much distracted by the gorgeous fireworks at every direction and of course by our own too, and hugging my friends with the camera on my trembling hand, while it was still recording. So, sorry if the lights seem to be moving too much in the video and hence driving you dizzy.
Cheesecake for supper :)
Spending the first hour of 2010 in a very productive way, LOL. Playing hard before working hard!
This is Naty's loooovely Samoyed baby, Mantow (饅頭)! Awww so so so so so CUTE ♥ ♥ ♥
Having an Italian lunch with Priscilla at La Trattoria, inside Multiplaza Escazú :)
Pris' piña colada. A bit too sweet... even for me.
Oh how much I love their cheese with fresh herbs :) Smooth and creamy! Best match with their homemade bread.
Farfalle Alla Trattoria D'Oggi - Chicken and Asparagus Farfalle with white wine, yum :) Hehe, I got another Italian dish to learn now LOL
Their cheesy salame pizza is another plus of this restaurant, though the crust could be a bit thinner.
Movie time after lunch :) Avatar 3D was GREAT, seriously I'd highly recommend it :) Hmm, was quite pissed when I noticed that someone was on my seat (We were a bit late to the theatre) and ridiculously we had to sit on the first row, Gosh, WT*. But well, felt so much like being inside the fantastic Pandora as the movie went by, and finally forgot the pain on my neck :P
I still remember how my aunt warned me a few years ago - "Cherish every moment after your 18th birthday no matter you feel good or bad, because it is when time starts to fly... And when you notice that, you are about to turn 25 already." I've found it so true now - though I am just 24 - I feel like these years have passed in a glimpse which I can hardly catch and slow it down. Frankly, I'm pretty relieved by the old Chinese saying which claims that when moments pass by too rapidly, it simply means that you are leading a too happy life; However, someone reminded me that it is when you are aging if you start complaining time goes too fast. Hmm, so, should I conclude that I'm getting older and happier now? :)
As for now it's merely three more days to go before I wave my hand at the beautiful year 2009 and open my arms to welcome the more challenging 2010, I feel an urge to do a brief review of this year and see how much it has given me, or how much I have worked it out. Generally speaking, 2009 has been quite jolly for me, though there were some ups and downs to go through; but well, this is how life works, isn't it? Here's what I've got... ♡ On the very first place, I'm pretty grateful for having been healthy throughout the whole year - At least, the blood disease has failed to come back and look for me. ♡ This year started with many of my close friends leaving - Enrique, Jovi, Laura, Jaeho, my ex David, my best buddy Ricky, and then Natasha. People come and go, and I've accepted it already. ♡ Hmm. This is indeed one of the toughest study year, with a demanding experience at the orphanage, thanks to TCU ("Trabajo Comunal Universitario", or "University Community Service"). ♡ I'm so happy that I finished reading 3 Spanish books - Really, I do much prefer English literature than Spanish. ♡ On late June, literally switched myself from Windows to Mac. Not a very big news but yay ♥ ♡ I shall never forget the day of 21st September, when my beloved grandfather finally lost his last breath and left us... It is one of the deepest pain for me :( But at least, he suffers no more pain in the heaven now... ♡ On the other hand, this year I've traveled to quite many places in Costa Rica -
Tamarindo, Conchal, Avellana and Flamingo Beaches on January; the
chocolate tour to Sarapiqui on Febuary; and doubtlessly the amazing
trips to Manuel Antonio and La Fortuna, in which for the first time I
tried canopy in a rain forest :) ♡ On November, I traveled with my bro to San Andrés, Columbia, and was soooo impressed by the breathtaking scenery. I still miss that paradise and its crystal clear water :) ♡ The sweet memories from May to December seem hardly possible to be forgotten. Platonic, dream-like and precious :) Despite of waking up from this LDR, I'm truly pleased and thankful for everything (Thanks for the little lovely theories!). From the deepest part of my heart, I wish you all the best over there :) ♡ I learnt the fact that sometimes if you push things forward too harshly, the rebound turns out to be stronger. ♡ This year I've also made up my decision to go back to Hong Kong instead of heading to any other foreign countries once I graduate in 2010. Hopefully I won't disappoint my friends any more :)
... So, that's pretty much of it for 2009. Goodbye 2009 :)
As for 2010, these are on my bucket list... ♡ Climb the Chirripó peak, the highest mountain in Costa Rica. 3,820 metres! I'm coming, Chirripó :) ♡ I must do bungee jumping for once before I leave CR! ♡ Learn German. ♡ Get my driving license. ♡ Get my firearm license. ♡ Graduate and get my CR official translator license. ♡ Visit my cousins in NYC - I've delayed this trip for so many times, sorry :( ♡ Have a brand new start on my own in Hong Kong :))))
I'm really looking forward to this new year with positive expectations! Hopefully it will be productive and joyful :) So what have you got during 2009? What do you expect for 2010? Happy new year to everyone :)
Remember... You only live once. If you work it right, once is very enough - So live it nicely, live it happily. If you are not happy, bear in mind that happy are those who dream dreams and are ready to pay the price to make them come true.
